Water Scarcity Podcasts
A creation of audio stories about water scarcity
We produce narrative stories about water from various places in Greece, through interviews and oral history accounts. We talk to scientists, but also non-experts, initiating a dialogue about a topic that remains more relevant than ever.
We present myths connected to water, learn from traditional ways of communal water management, and present real stories, of failure, and occasional success – stories about how people deal with water scarcity in order to provide inspiration for the future.
Our collection currently includes three main categories: (i) responses to water scarcity, (ii) science-related activities, and (iii) stories from tradition and mythology.
One of our core goals is to democratize access to knowledge about water scarcity, and have thus developed the website www.water-scarcity.gr that serves as a hub for inspiring solutions by the water scarcity fighters in Greece.
This is an ongoing initiative, funded by different sources, currently including the collection of stories from various locations in Greece. However, we plan to go beyond those, both geographically and thematically, to also include areas where water is found in abundance. We welcome your proposals!
