Exploring the Future of Design Education and Sustainability

Design has traditionally focused on humans as consumers, sometimes unintentionally promoting unsustainable habits and products. As we look toward a circular economy shaped by decentralized technologies and prosumers, the role of the designer is evolving.

Next week, Evgenia Tsianou / DISSCO  will participate in a panel discussion alongside Katharina Herzog /HSLU – Design Management, International, Heiko Specking / Sparring Partner, and Helen Muggli /  Pro Helvetia in Lucerne. The conversation will explore how design education, research, and practice can adapt to contribute meaningfully to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Agenda 2030.

The event is hosted by the HSLU – Design Management, International faculty and takes place within the framework of their annual Bachelor student project presentations.

We invite you to join the discussion. Details and registration information can be found on Linkedin.
